Stage 3: Ideate

Now that you have outlined the problem in your problem statement, you can start generating ideas—lots of them! Hopefully by this point, you are familiar with the problem you are trying to solve and the people you are trying to help.

The goal of this stage is not to come up with the ‘perfect’ idea that will save the world but to brainstorm a wide range of possible solutions. With your problem statement as the anchor, try to generate as many ideas as possible—right now we’re looking for quantity, not quality!

Possible Methods:

  • Brainstorms

  • Mindmaps

  • Storyboards

  • 30 Circles (guide by IDEO)

  • Crazy 8’s (guide by Google Design Sprints)
